I am booked SYD ICN LAX and vv for Christmas In J Class. Looking at the seat maps in the OZ site, it appears that all 4 flights are less than 1/2 full which I find astonishing for Christmas.

I appreciate the seat maps might not be true indicator of how many seats have been sold. I recall reading somewhere on FT that Koreans don’t use the seat selection facilities in both KE or OZ, preferring to just arrive at the airport and be allocated seating then and there. Or have the Korean/US economies taken such a battering over the last year, not as many Koreans - including those US based - are not travelling this Christmas?.
