Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles - Transit in Istanbul

Hi,

Could anyone help me with my problem. I had a flight Paris-Istanbul, Istanbul-Bishkek. I originally had a paper ticket, at check-in the lady gave me the boarding passes but didn't give me back my paper tickets. At Istanbul they didn't let me board the plane to Bishkek, saying that they need my paper tickets. So i missed my flight, after going to the sales department, they said they have to verify that my plane tickets were left in Paris, If the answer is positive i don't pay anything, else i would have to pay 40 EUR for ticket change. They didn't offer me a hotel room, although the next plane is in 24 hours. So i had to pay for the hotel from my pocket. What i want to know, if the answer from Paris would be positive, can i rembourse my expenses for hotel from Turkish airlines?

If Paris backs you up, you should definitely try to get reimbursed for your hotel expenses but nobody here can guarantee that you'll actually succeed in collecting from TK. You should give it a try though. Good luck.

Thanks for such fast reply! I realize myself that chances are slim but still will try to get it.

Where exactly should i ask for reimbursement? Because honestly, they were sending me around the airport for about an hour before i actually got to the sales department. And I am suspecting that if paris backs me up they will continue sending me from one department to another until the boarding time.

If you mean where at Istanbul airport, I don't know the answer to that. If things don't work out at the airport, I'd suggest that you hang on to your hotel receipt. You can always try to get reimbursed after your trip is over by applying to TK's Customer Service (which is somewhat notorious for being unresponsive) by e-mail or phone.
