Air France Frequence Plus - Skipping the TGV to Brussels but getting miles.
Hello, I'm going to be 200 miles short of renewing my status this year. I will soon book a return trip from MIA to CDG, in order to get the missing miles I noticed I could book MIA to CDG to BRU then CDG to MIA coming back. I could stop by in BXL and visit a friend then take a regular train home, but what if I don't even board the CDG to BRU TGV, will they know? It says I need to pick up my TGVAir ticket at the SNCF counter, do they check I actually board the train afterwards?

For 200 miles, I would be confident that they will renew. Even a couple of years ago they were doing it, and now that the crisis and April fool has hit, they will be desperate to attract "loyal" customers.

I agree with brunos on the threshold. Even 1000 miles should be ok. At least it was the case in the past years. But you would have to ask them to be sure.

Thanks Bodory and Brunos. This looks good but I'd rather have the miles in my account, not taking the chance!

IME you can go to the TGV'Air counter in CDG, pick-up your "boarding pass" (actually a train ticket) and do not step onto the train. The miles should post correctly.

Excellent, I'll do this then, it only adds $25 to the ticket price.
Thanks!

do it without any remorse/worry
i usually do it as i book 3 times a year ZYR-CDG-MEX A/R which are 100-200 euros cheaper than CDG-MEX direct flights.
I have to travel ZYR-CDG to avoid my intinerary invalidated, but on the return, i check in at TGV air counter in the station, and go home by normal RER
And i see 2 days later my miles for CDG-ZYR which have happily posted....
