Mrs Oldtimer likes to take her dog with her. $80 on NW, $50 on DL, at least until recently. While planning a trip involving a DL leg I checked the DL website and now see $150! Really? They tripled the price since March?
I suppose in view of everything else I shouldn't be surprised. Or is this an error?

Costs for pets have been climbing really fast lately! There is a Travel with Pets forum here on FT now and it is tracking some of those increases, but it's been changing fast!

Do airlines make errors? Especially when it comes to outrageous pricing - these days!

For that price, I'd just buy a seat for the pet.

I had the exact same thought ;). Wonder how they'd handle a VDB for pet and owner ?

It seems that unfortunately DL is leading the pack in these carryon pet fees. :(
Feel free to join the discussion already going on in the new "Travel with Pets" forum that Abby mentioned for the increases on all carriers.

Thanks for the help.
Yep, it seems that the price has tripled to $150.
The price for the ticket (SLC-PDX) is $101.50.
If only the dog could talk...

With prices like this, get Fido a SkyMiles number, and he/she will be an elite in no time....:D

Perhaps said in jest, but would this really work? If you can buy a seat for a cello, can you buy a seat for a pet?
