Hello all,
Just researching how to get a pet from Canada into the UK. In addition to the six month wait and crazy paperwork, it's very expensive & stressful to ship them into London via mandatory cargo (quotes of $1,500-$2,000 for a cat). That's more than getting a round trip ticket to a European city that allows pets in the cabin, and then entering the UK via train. UK's DEFRA rules need to be followed regardless, so this would mainly be a convenience/price/peace of mind deal.
I was wondering if anyone has had success using this method (i.e. bring your pet into the cabin using AF into CDG, LH into FRA etc... and then import your pet via the Chunnel)? Is there any way to fly a pet into the UK in a commercial carrier's cabin? Any advice would be greatly appreciated - thanks!
Edit: Looks like the Eurostar won't accept pets, so only choice is to travel via ferry.
