It's here, over here. Happy St Patrick's Day!

So, how will you celebrate Paddy's Day?

In a couple of hours I'll be across to one of Sydney's most notorious Irish pubs, hopefully to get a table at the pub's restaurant, to join the Mrs, who should have had a Guinness or three by then.

If the music is not great, I'm going to push for an adjournment, to the best little Irish inn, on Sydney's far 'north shore'.

Hoof or fin?
I'm tempted to go with salmon as it's a bit hot for a Steak & Guinness Pie, today.
Otherwise I will have it so that I can get back to drinking something else that I like.

I think today's the day for Paddy's rather than Jameson. :)

What are ye doing?

My office is above an Irish Pub in Manhattan (though that is probably any office building in Manhattan :D) and they had a sign out saying they are opening at 7 for breakfast and beer. I'll be "in the mood" from the noise of the constant partying I'm sure will draft upstairs.

Meanwhile, the corned beef I've been brining for a week will be home simmering in the slow cooker for when we arrive.

So it will be fairly quiet, but a good excuse to make corned beef.

Who is going to the pub for breakfast?

Some people here were at the pub for a 7AM brekky, so were merry at 9AM when they reported to Mrs B. :)

It's past dinner here but we're just between venues (I love this 3G wireless broadband thingy).

On the menu so far - Guinness, potato wedges, more Guinness, potatoes, Baileys, and the loop goes on.

The menu wasn't too appealing so we're off to get more Baileys before deciding on our late dinner.

Happy Paddy's Day!

Anyone else on FT who is going out for a meal or a drink for Paddy's?

News from Ireland is that it has been something like 68 years since parts of the celebration had to be rearranged due to a clash with Holy Week.

Did anyone see a parade?
- Was it rescheduled to Sunday or held on the day?

We left the Irish pub for another venue but ended up going home, to open an extra-large Baileys.

Duty Free, of course. ;)

I did the official celebration on the Saturday, with hosting an 8am breakfast, beer, bloody marys, and baileys at my house. I didn't get home until 11p that same day.

Today, I just made a corned beef and washed it down w/ an Artesa merlot. :)
