Has anyone used the SkyRoll garment bag?

www.skyroll.com

I am intrigued by its premise and its size, which appears to be smaller than most other garment bags.

Yes, I have one. I use it primarily for my one day trips that require me to bring a suit. As advertised, just place the suit inside and roll. It is a little smaller than other garment bags and fits in most overhead bins lengthwise.

Thanks for the feedback. How long is it exactly, and is it likely to be allowed as carry on for most flights? I have seen reviews that state it is over the limit and others that say it is under the limit, at least in terms of length.

Also, how big (or small) is it? We are a family of 4 (2 toddlers) traveling to a wedding, and I'd like to throw my suit, my wife's dress, and some "nice" clothes for the kids in the bag. We'll have other luggage for other items. Will that fit?

Did you read the website? It's pretty clear about the size:

22" long x 9" in diameter.

I believe most airlines restrict bags greater than 24".

The rolling version is a bit bigger, but still seems to be within spec:

22x12x7 inches

Will it fulfill your needs? No one can really judge that other than you. The shoulder bag isn't very expensive at $109. it's just a bit of a gamble.

I guess I was just looking for a real-world measurement, since this review indicates that it is actually 24" long and will exceed the carry on limits for many airlines:

I guess I should just see if I can find one locally so I can take a look.

I just measured it, end to end, 24". The main compartment of the bag is 22" but with the ends it comes out 24". Again, it will fit in most overhead bins lengthwise, albeit newer bins, as the bag is a soft bag, so if it sticks out a little bit a firm push should close the bin cover.

I just bought the Skyroll with Wheels, and wanted to mention that it does NOT fit into the overhead compartment unless you turn it sideways. With the wheels, it's about 24" long, and cannot be compressed any further.

It's a good idea, but IMO, unusable for carry-on luggage.
