Hi there,

I am shopping for a new carry-on suitcase, and one requirement that I've always had is that the suitcase handle must have two shafts and a non-curved top so that I could slide my notebook "briefcase" over the handle. My Dell notebook briefcases always have a little sleeve to accomodate this.

I am seeing some nice suitcases, but some only have a single shaft for the handle. This is probably better for giving more room inside the suitcase, but I'm trying to figure out if I can still put a laptop over the handle like with my previous suitcases.

I'd appreciate any discussion on the matter. Perhaps I just need a new type of notebook carrier? Thanks in advance.

I have a Delsey small roller bag with single shaft handle and I hate it. Slipping anything over the handle is tricky if you want to balance it at the top of the bag. It's aways off balance and flops around under the bag. Always.

You can hang a bag on the handle to rest way down low near the wheels, but I really hate the handle, although I love the suitcase.

I have the following bag and hated it for business travel w/briefcase (although I do like the bag for leisure travel):

The single (although somewhat wide) shaft and curved top made the bag constantly slide and often fall off the top...even when I tried to zip the "sleeve" on the briefcase tight around the handle. The briefcase was also a matching piece from the same collection, so there was no excuse for this. I would recommend staying far away from this type of suitcase if you can avoid it. I ended up getting a different Tumi bag with a 2-shafted handle and it s a world of difference while running through airports, etc.
