What partner airlines can I use my dividend miles on? Can I use it on flights that US airways flys the same route? Are there any penalty's for transferring over the points? Also, do I redeem it for a ticket, or can I just transfer it into a different airlines mileage account?
Thanks

1. See RMINIONE's reply (or usair.com for that matter!)
2. Yes.
3. You can't transfer miles (say from US -DM to UA MP)
4. You redeem it for a ticket on a partner (*A or other).

The redemption options for Big Sky, Hawaiian, Royal Jordanian and Virgin Atlantic airlines don't appear to be published on the web site, but you can call 800-247-5691.

And for a real treat, use your mileage on Asiana, Singapore Airlines or Thai Airways for one of the most memorable and enjoyable flight experiences in your life. The Star Alliance membership really has its benefits with these carriers.

I'm surprised US Air is even in the Star Alliance. The product is one of the lower tiered ones in the alliance. For Int'l travel def redeem on an Alliance partner to get full benefits and much deserved comfort after roughing it on US airways old run down beasts of the sky.

Yes! In my opinion, using your US miles for First Class or Business Class travel on one of these carriers is probably the best way to cash in your miles.

I've tried to pull up the star alliance award chart from the link here and from the USAirways website but keep on getting an error message %PDF.

Any suggestions?
The same thing happened to me even using Jumpgate's subsequent link. Just cancel out of the error message and refresh the webpage -- then it should come up (at least it did for me).

If you get that error, kill any AcroRd processes (and get a real PDF reader!) and try again - failing that, just right click-save the link and then open it on your own system.
The chart STILL says Qatar and Royal Jordanian awards are unavailable - will they ever be? Seems like a C award on Qatar would be awesome. That is unless they limit it like Virgin Atlantic, where you can only book economy and not Upper Class, the jerks.
I've used it three times to redeem star alliances miles on UA. It's a great tool.

Yes, the Qatar thing is a major sore point.
They announced the DM redeeming partnership to much fanfare and almost immediately suspended it. No word as to when it will return. You can still earn mileage by flying Qatar.
The Royal Jordanian thing is legacy from HP and was "temporarily suspended" during the merger. Of course, no word as to when that will return either. Royal Jordanian is a great option for connecting from TLV to the middle and far east. Any other airline (aside from El Al) require back tracking to Europe.
The Middle East is a big gap in the *A, and having these as valid partners would be a MAJOR plus for Dividend Miles.

AC has two-class transatlantic plans with Economy and "Executive First." The US *A chart has 3-classes listed for TA flights at 50/80/125 miles. Do the new EF pod-style seats (http://www.aircanada.com/en/travelinfo/onboard/comfort_intexec.html) count as business class or first class in regard to # of DM required?

It is business class in regards to # of DM required.
