I will be arriving in Milan ( MXP Term. 1 ) on Sunday Jan 6th at approx 11 am. My plan is to check into a hotel and catch the shopping bus organized by Zani Viaggi that is scheduled to leave at 2 pm from Milano, Zani Viaggi Agency, Foro Bonaparte 76 (MM1 Cairoli - MM2 Lanza) for FoxTown (Switzerland )

All these places are foreign to me and I am very tight on a schedule. Can someone advise me which area ( or specific hotel ) I should stay in that is close to the shopping tour bus pickup ?

How should I get from the airport to the hotel ?
Is this plan do-able ?

If I miss the bus would driving be advisable ?

Thanks in advance

Are you going to have a lot of luggage with you?
The train from MXP to Centrale takes about 45 minutes, so I would prefer not to have to stop at a hotel and check in before going to catch the bus. My suggestion is to go into town, catch the bus and just have a hotel booked where you can crash after the bus returns. While I've been to Milan 3-4 times, my stays were short and I am not familiar with the specific neighbourhoods, so I won't give you any advice on this.
In terms of hotels, I can heartily recommend the Mercure Corso Genova. The room was on the small side, but the price was great, service was very attentive and the breakfast buffet marvellous (its size wasn't exceptional, but the quality was to die for- pastries and sweets made on site by a trained confectioner...yum!). And there was wifi available at a reasonable price (I think €6 per day).

there is a UNA Hotel almost across the street from where the buses leave...also very close to the Duomo/central Milan area. If you stay in the Duomo or Brera areas you'll be pretty close to everything.

I will be arriving with one checked in bag, thus the reason I wanted to drop by the hotel first. An idea is to ask the shopping tour operator if they will accept storing the bag in the bus...hmm

Is the UNA hotel you mention called Una Hotel Cusani. It seems very close to the hotel via train and from the map very close to the bus stop. I have written the hotel an e-mail for confirmation on distances.

Thanks for the suggestions

I suggest you check beforehand if Foxtown is open on the 6th of January. It is a bank holiday in Italy and it may well be that it's the same in Switzerland
