Both wife and I each need 5800 miles to move to next level and we can leave in 2 weeks. What would be a good flight to take...ATL-SFO? My wife loves San Fran but not sure of mileaage.
Also what search engine gives the best business class rates, thinking ahead for a trip in January.

atl-eastcoast-westcoast round trip should do it, but hnl for a few days would be more fun....good luck...

This website (http://gc.kls2.com/) is very good for mileage (and pretty close to accurate for what the airlines will give you. Is cost an issue?

Jabrams suggestion about the Great Mapper is excellent. If you want an exact figure you can also go to the Delta website and enter ATL-SFO like you are booking a flight, choose a flight, and you will see that ATL-SFO is 2139 miles each way for a total of 4278 MQMs. You will make headway with this trip but will need another trip to get to 5800 miles. Please check out Dream Maps by Travelocity or Getaway Maps by Farecompare.com to get some ideas for mileage runs.

If possible, you could investigate a flight to HNL. Fares out of IAD were ridiculously low earlier this week (snagged one for $294 a/i) and give you a shade over 10k EQM (YMMV).

price is very flexable, if we go atl-sfo or atl-sea it is 4364 or 4278 which would leave us 1500 short. we fly atl to montego bay, jamaica on air jamaica dec 1-8, they are a code share but not sure if we will get QM miles. we also will get 1000 each on delta dining rewards, 1000 medallion but it will still leave us 500 short UNLEE we get QM miles on air jamaica. anyone know??

As of August 31, 2007, Air Jamaica no longer participates in the SkyMiles program.

Look at adding a layover (ATL-NYC-SFO) or go to HNL.

Mileage runs add additional miles by flying extra segments instead of non-stop flights. I am not that familiar with Delta routing, and there may be better choices, but if all you need is an extra 500 miles, routing yourselves to either SFO or SEA through New York should give you the additional miles, although you would lose the convenience of a non-stop flight.

I am flying from the west coast so I do an occasional LAX-IAD-FLL on UA and that gives me 6300 EQM's. I have found that fare for as low as $280.
