Hey guys, I've been a reader of this forum for a while but finally decided to register. I would appreciate any help or input from your experiences or knowledge.

I need 6,890 American Airlines EQM's to re-qualify for next year.

I have been doing my research as best I can and will be since I am traveling to NYC for a week in December between Dec. 4 and Dec. 18, anytime for a week during those dates. I have been looking and the best I found was DFW-SFO-LGA and then after a weeks stay, return with JFK-SFO-DFW. This would total out to be about 8,000 miles at approx $500 so leaving me with a little over $0.06 CPM.

Since I don't really need the full 8,000 miles from the previous path stated above, I was wondering if you guys could help me on other paths or routes would help me lower the cost of the flight yet still achieve the 6,890 EQM's. It doesn't really matter which airport I land in between LGA/JFK/EWR... basically DFW to LGA/JFK/EWR and the connections in between could be anything. Either way, I will be traveling to NY for a week so I thought I would just knock the MR out along with the trip.

Any suggestions would help!

Thanks!

You have found the best option possible. Choose between SFO and LAX as your connecting city, depending on schedule and convenience; both give enough miles, but everything else being equal choose SFO for extra miles. I don't think the basic idea and fare can be improved in December. Need to watch the fare bucket also, so you do get 1 point for 1 mile flown! Good luck.

Well I am in the same situation I need 8K miles after my 2 trips to asia in Nov.
I spent last night working on the first part of december. I think you have a good route for the money. I will post if I find something better.
