View Full Version : Only an FT'er would understand - AA miles needed

I am trying to stick to FT rules of conduct, so please don't bash me!

I need 15,000 miles from a New York City airport that will post before 10/29 when the award res I want expires if not ticketed. Unfortunately, I can only fly Fri-Sun so this gives me the next two weekends for this.
They need to be posted to an AA non-elite account so any 1World flights that qualify are cool with a fare under $1,000 if that's possible. My passport is current.

My reasoning: These 15k miles will make me ADV-Gold and give me the miles I need to redeem the holy grail: A Biz Saver award on a very difficult route at the absolute perfect flight times and dates for a trip where I also have the hotel on miles, with an upgrade added.

Buying miles is an option, but only takes care of the award, not the status.
I've tried: NetSAAVer (requires 4 day stay, can't do it), most international itins are $2,000 or more. Every domestic hopping itin I've tried comes out to over $1,000.
Thanks to all!

Here's an idea:

1) Sign up for AA Gold Challenge. You will need to earn 5,000 Q-points, instead of 15,000 more miles.

2) On AA.com, there are some EWR-SEA flights for this weekend (M/W fare basis) that are running about $650. When I put in NYC-SEA and selected economy with no restrictions, I found some flights that priced around $650. The M/W fare basis will earn you 1 pt/mile. You need to book through DFW for one of the legs to get over 5,000 pts.

3) Purchase the remaining 10,000 miles to get your 15,000 total miles (cost $250, excluding taxes and fees).

If you want miles to post by 10/29, you'll need to travel this weekend, not next.
