Although not being too publicized, and termed as a "precautionary landing", 9w-112 Nagpur-Mumbai landed back at Nagpur after experiencing a bird-hit in the engine yesterday, 15 October 2007.

Tough to find this on the Times of India site (9w is known to have a good influence on the media, I think! ;) )

A non event that usually doesn't get reported in the press. This was because the Oz cricket team with a few journos was on board.

A non event that usually doesn't get reported in the press. This was because the Oz cricket team with a few journos was on board. Both teams were reportedly on board - and you are right about it being a lesser event to report, other than this one, which was in the print copy of today's (16 October 2007) Times of India.
