I am new to the MR idea. I have found the following and want to see if it is a good deal or if there are any suggestions:

Dept: Oct 27, 07
Ret: Oct 27, 07

CLT - LAS - PHX - ONT - PHX - LAS - CLT =
1912 + 500 + 500 + 500 + 500 + 1912 = 5824 EQM and 6 segments

$161.20 Outbound + $131.70 Return = $292.90 All In

I am open to travel anytime between 5pm 10/26 and midnight 10/28.

Thanks

looks like $.05 cpm, so no, it doesn't appear to be a good deal at all

If it's exclusively to get miles/segments, it's not that great a deal. But if you're going there anyways, it's actually not that bad a price for CLT<->ONT and generates miles + segments.

I'm new to doing a MR as well. I need to make a cross country flight since I am 5400 EQM short of 1P.

I was looking at a flight from IAD-LAX-RNO-LAX-IAD for $238.10 r/t. That's a .043 cpm.

(I have no reason to go to Reno other than this MR)

What do you consider a good/great cpm?

I consider a good mileage run to be about 3 cpm (cents per *elite qualifying mile*, that is), and a great one to be under 2 cpm. Other people have slightly lower standards. Have you considered flying out of BWI instead? There are sometimes better bargains to be had from there, rather than IAD.

ditto to the above, 3 cents per EQM is a solid MR, i tend to book those instead of holding off. 2 cents per EQM is a great MR opportunity and i jump on those every chance i can get.
