I will be staying at this hotel for a few nights in 2 weeks. Information on their web site is sketchy at best.

Does anyone have suggestions on best way to get from DUS to hotel? Hotel to downtown? Approximate costs?

Any info you can share about the hotel or the area would be greatly appreciated.

From the airport by taxi, should be an easy 10 minute drive - from a Duesseldorf perspective this hotel is far out of town in the city of Ratingen close to the airport. To DT DUS, I am not certain, there is a tram from Ratingen to Duesseldorf. You might wish to check on www.vrr.de

I hope you don't expect anything "hip" to be around. There is really nothing there, except my old employer and plenty of flights getting into DUS over your head. I hope you don't mind that!

Thanks for the replies. I have no choice where to stay. I am there for a plastics show next week and there are NO rooms available anywhere in Duesseldorf. I arrive on Wednesday, spend all day Thursday at the show, and leave at 6 a.m. Friday, so not worried about not having anything to do!

Are there 2 Relexa hotels? One which is 2 km from the airport and the other which is further away. I am staying at:

Calor-Emag-Str. 7
40878 Ratingen

I think this one is much further away. Would that affect your thoughts on cheapest way to get there from DUS?

Ratingen is basically the closet town to Duesseldorf Airport. I don't expect you to have any problems to get to the hotel or the airport. Even a taxi should be fairly cheap.

I would have never upgraded Ratingen into a different status that "closet" ;)
