Our good friends at FL are pulling out of the BOS-PHL market in early November. Of course, we still have trusty old US to serve us on the route. But US, our "Low Cost Carrier", is instituting a slight fare increase following FL's departure:

With FL November 6: BOS-PHL one way: $39 to $59
After FL November 7: BOS-PHL one way: $454

Yup. In markets where US has a monopoly the whole "LCC" thing get thrown out the window.

I flew BOS-PHL one way a few weeks ago for $149 including taxes walk up fare.

I'm sure that will never happen again.

Unfortunately - I can't complain - it's partially my fault. Once again people were happy to have AirTran because it lowered US' fare. Nobody actually flew AirTran.

$39 to $59 are sale prices that FL has and US has matched the same type of fares they are 10 day AP and are probably sold out. With less capacity these fares will sell out sooner.

Isn't DL on this route as well? I thought DL was increasing their BOS PHL schedule?

DL is relaunching :confused: service on CRJ's 4x a day in mid November.

While it won't be as cheap as FL, it will at least offer some solace.

My only FL flight was BOS-PHL. I had to use all my Wendy's vouchers :D

Looks like fares will be starting at $102 each way. Not excessive but not exactly LCC either. All in that will be around $230-$240, which for an hour flight is on the high side. Seems like starting fares of $69 or $79 one-way would be more accurate.
