Is it just me or does $330++ for SFO-PHX round trip really not seem like something that should be advertised as a sale? That actually seems very expensive for advanced purchase on that route
That being said, the $118++ SAN-PHX fare is true sale and actually has pretty good availability.

That's about the normal advance purchase fare (I think $59 each way). Not really anything special, normal fares. DEN used to be far more, but with the recent WN entry there, fares have come down substantially (not just US, but UA and F9 have also matched).
I've seen PHX-JFK fares under $200 round-trip, as recent as this past Jan-Feb.

You can fly SAN-PHX for 118-138 ai on a regular day.

That's true...I recently flew that leg for about $180 last month
It goes like this:
raise fares
lower fares to same amount as just before raising them
advertise a fare sale

Or, save time by not raising or lowering fares and just advertising a fare sale anyway.
