Can anyone report on the choice, quality, availability and cost of food on VX in Y ?

A friend took the IAD-SFO-IAD trip this past weekend and reported that a muffaletta sandwich, salad and cookie were very good and fresh, and I think cost him about $10 or so.

All purchases are by credit card, and the FA will bring the food to you after you order it from the Red system. He got the food about 2 minutes after ordering.

Unfortunately posts on VX are spread around - some in the Virgin Atlantic forum. I read a few posts with detailed description of the food service. If I get a chance over the weekend, will try to search and posts the links.
