It sounds like it could be fun. It may be worth a try.

Was on the LAX-SFO flight last saturday and noticed this feature on the PTV, but it said it was not yet active... sounds interesting, though.

Not sure what to think. On one hand it's a neat feature, on the other hand I can imagine it getting annoying, abusive, and flat out strange. Of course, just like almost everything else with VX, I don't get it. I guess I'm not "hip" enough.:p

You can't just randomly send a message to anyone on the plane. They have to create a name and log on. It might be fun if your buddy is seated in another row. If you don't want any more messages then just log off. Also, before you can do anything on the entertainment system you have to agree to a code of conduct.

I was wondering who moderates it...

in the video from OP everyone declined to chat with the guys sitting next to each other... why did they all log on if they didn't care to chat?

weird

Personally I see this as a feature looking for a use. Maybe strangers will flirt but I doubt it. Friends are not likely to intentionally spread out in the plane and use this.

Some techies designed this and sold the higherups on the "cool feature". Who knows, maybe I'll be proved a luddite.
