Well, title says it all really. Can I cancel a booking made online on Finnair's homepage within a certain period of time even if the fare is non-refundable? Some airlines offer for example a 24h grace period.

There used to be a grace period of 24 hrs, but that is not the case anymore.
If I were you, I'd call Finnair Web Support at +358 203 140 200 and ask them, they are usually very helpful with web-related issues. The line is open until 10 pm EET daily. The phone call is charged at regular rates, no extra fee.
I have been able to cancel a booking that I had made on their web page. I just called them and they mentioned, that since they haven't charged my credit card yet, it's ok and just cancelled the ticket.
I've also changed the dates of an unchangeable ticket, but that was also only a few hours after booking it.

IME, Finnair.fi charges it and spits out e-tickets instantly for ex-Finland departures. For non-Finland departures, it might take a manual process and some delay, i.e. ex-BKK.

I have pretty much the same experience here. Instant ticketing for ex-HEL but for ex-US/ex-Asia it can take up to 2 days until they do the ticketing/processing for the payment.
Now that I think of it, it was actually an award flight and the CC was only used to pay the taxes - but I'm not sure if this changes anything. But that's what the guy in the phone told me anyway.

Usually you have up to the 30d mark to pay the taxes for award flights, if booking inside the 30d window then I think they'll charge you immediately.
