We have several hours to waste before our flight but not enough time to travel into Manhatten plus we'll have our luggage with us.

Can anyone suggest a decent hotel to take coffee and a sandwich before checking in at the airport, preferably one with a shuttle service.

Hilton in Short Hills.

The Marriott is at the airport and is one of the best options.

The Marriott is the most convenient because it is right there at the airport, closer to the terminal than long term parking. Definitely there is a shuttle which takes about 5 min.

The Short Hills Hilton is definitely a nicer hotel with an excellent spa and other amenities. The Short Hills mall, a nice upscale mall, is across the street. However, it is at least a 20 min drive (not sure if there is a shuttle) and you'd have to build in much time in case there is traffic (and there usually is traffic since there is constuction on Rt 78 now).

The nearby Holiday Inn Newark Airport (www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/hd/ewria) offers excellent views of nearby Northern State Prison.

No need to email them, this is very common. Plenty of people use the common areas of the hotel for meetings etc.
