Can any FTers out there tell me what happens if you are overweight when flying Cebu Pacific. I have a trip planned from HKG to MNL next November & may well have some (moderate) excess over the 20Kg allowance.
Nowhere on their website can I find anything about excess charges & have sent them this question (twice) via their enquiries page, with no response.
Are there any other issues that would be good to know about flying with them?
Thanks in advance.

Hard to tell at the moment, but let's say 15lbs (7Kgs).
They will charge about 20 USD..per bag. Although it seems to vary at other locations the folks at HKG are pretty efficient at collecting it. BTW they will want HKG$...pesos or us wont work.

They will charge about 20 USD (HKG-MNL)...per bag. Although it seems to vary at other locations...
Here are the excess charge rates on the routes I'm familiar with:
HKG-MNL 23 HKD/kilo
BKK-MNL 200 baht/kilo
MNL-BKK 300 pesos/kilo
MNL-ICN 330 pesos/kilo
Excess bagage charges frequently far, far exceed the airfare paid. In fact, it's interesting just to stand at the ticket counter and watch em 'rake it in.' Generally, I see a lot of 'boohoo-ing going on' from unsuspecting passengers.
But personally, I start to 'tear up' about half way to the airport. :D
FME Cebu is wonderful when it comes to weighing everything. If you have overage in carry-on, I suggest that you keep it separate from your checked luggage & don't let em see it at the counter... have someone else hold it for you 'elsewhere' while u check-in.
Anyway, the counter will weigh the junk they see and give you a price. Then when you almost fall over dead, the real negociation begins. :( (And that's all I'll have to say about that).
Cebu charges for everthing onboard. Water, pepsis, and juice are a buck (1USD). Sandwiches are $2.00.
FWIW, the flights to/from Korea operate like scheduled charter service. Therefore, these trips are not sold via their website, but thru a separate travel entity. The Korea runs are priced at about double the price of other trips w 'equivalent' mileage. For example, BKK-MNL RT can be had for about $234 USD. The cheapest MNL-ICN RT is currently $478. Flight times for these routes are about 3:00 hr vs. 3:20.
At least for me, Cebu has never responded to any inquiry placed via their website.

Many thanks to both of you for your replies. ^
I guess that the LCC business model is being shown at its (almost) rawest with this carrier, but the info you have provided should be extemely useful to any FTers passing this way.
