You can bring a DVD player, the plane is an old 767. Flown this route twice, very unhappy crews, barely passable service.

I have done this route a lot and the equipment used does change, but is usually nothing special but ok if taking advantage of AZ's low-cost business fares being sold out of Delhi from time to time.

The food is not impressive -- actually I almost never like it -- but I cannot say that the inflight service from the persons has been anything less than generally attentive to whatever requests I have. Still, they are not given much to work with.

The lounge AZ uses in Delhi is usually packed to the gills at the time AZ has customers there.

The lounge AZ uses in Milan is not too packed at the time the DEL flight arrives into MXP, but gets busier as the minutes pass by. There are two shower suites at the MXP lounge, but it doubles as a bathroom that anyone can access and so there can be a wait, the bathroom might not be too clean or the water could be cold with the drain clogged. (On departure from MXP to DEL, the lounge is often packed, and generally has poor offerings except in the way of a decent selection of newspapers.)

About the DVD/CD-issue, don't the Italian authorities still have restrictions against the use of laser-producing devices in flight? Well, even when I know they did not officially fancy DVD and CD use in-flight, I've even see crew pull out their laptop and/or DVD player to watch a movie, something that is a must if you do the route a lot given the lack of personal IFE setups on many of AZ's planes used on this route.

The seats are comfortable enough but they leave much to be desired. They are old. I would not find the seats so comfortable to be worth a full-fare biz ticket. AZ has to discount on this route in the forward cabin probably because the physical offerings are considerably behind what the other carriers operating India-Europe are offering.

About the DVD/CD-issue, don't the Italian authorities still have restrictions against the use of laser-producing devices in flight? I see people watching personal video players on all my AZ long haul flights, in both cabins. Never seen an FA complain. I've also seen FA's playing videos on their personal laptops.

Service in biz is always good, attentive, the food is sometimes good; I think the food depends on your departure point, since I assume that's where it's catered. Therefore it's better from MXP-ORD than from ORD-MXP, and I'd assume it's better to Delhi than from Delhi (since a Delhi caterer trying to create pseudo Italian airline food is somewhat oxymoronic).

It has been a couple of years since I flew them, but they have the most restrictive rules I have ever seen regarding what devices can be used, as noted in previous posts. This (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=706122) recent thread has more detail, summary is that CD and DVD players are not allowed, but that many (not all) crews ignore the rule, and some crews extend the rule to cover other devices that are allowed under the rules..
