Which lounges would you recommend among the ones located in IAD and/or BWI? Airline is not of much concern, the only issue is that lounge access is complimentary along with a refundable tix (would probably have to be premium international).
Thanks in advance for the responses!

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club at IAD looks very posh although I must confess to never visited. Certainly the UA RCC are nothing to write home about.

Yeah, so I keep hearing. Apparently in the United States RCC's one has to pay for alc. drinks...
The IAD RCCs are dumps with frat house decor and snarling matrons guarding the doors. The UA IFL is supposedly better. I too have heard that the VS lounge is the place to go. The BA lounge is small, but it has an open bar and a very good buffet dinner. BA also has an F lounge that I have not been in.

UA's IFL is definitely better than the RCCs, but still not great. The NW WorldClub in Terminal B is well stocked in terms of beverages and has okay snacks, but it's literally packed to the gills before the KLM flight to AMS. It's been a long time since I was in the BA lounge. I'd agree with MileageAddict that the Virgin Flying Club is probably the best of the bunch.

Hi,
The Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse is excellent ( lots of snacks and a full menu form which you can order a full meal too)
