I was given UA Premier Associate status from a friend who is a UA Prem. Exec. (kind of like a US CP nominating someone to silver). UA Premier Associate is like US Silver, or even a step below. I basically wanted it for the airport line jumping and preferred boarding/seating. I don't expect UA upgrades when I fly them, though and I certainly won't get any upgrades on US.
What's this have to do with US? Well, when I print my US boarding passes (which have my UA account number on them), a big "STAR GOLD" appears across the top. ^^^
According to the UA T&C about this "elite" membership, it should be Star Silver. But now, at least, I can use the faster TSA line at Philly and start boarding earlier.
Anyone have any idea why US' systems think my UA # is a Star Gold?

Wow - that is really surprising! Wasn't there a thread recently about a UA Premier Executive who didn't have any *A status show up on his US boarding pass? Maybe some programmer at US got a little confused about all of the UA status designations....;)

And the opposite happened to me some months back (US elite on UA not having *G on BP and a struggle with GA for Zone 1). It was a Shares-conversion-thing I was told, and probably still is.
But I regress...you said a Premier Exec (1P) sponsored you. Did you mean a 1K (friend)? If they are a 1P, I didn't know about this benefit of nominating to 3P. I just looked and didn't see anything. If so, Mrs McKnife is getting nominated.

Even 2Ps can do it. And 2Ps and 1Ps can do it at lower thresholds than 1Ks. Pure retardation on the part of UA's marketing, IMHO.

This must have been one of the higher priority bug fixes. As of last Thursday, my BP still showed "STAR GOLD", despite my Premier Associate status on UA. Today, it shows "PREMIER" and I'm relegated to zone 2. It was nice while it lasted... :)
At least UA elites can use the priority line in terminal C, so that's still something to take advantage of.
