Anyone have an idea? The Flying Returns website ofcourse does not spell out anything about this.

Will they match my status on another airline? Who do I write to?

Thanks

I did not mean the lounge. The frequent flier tiers of the Flying Returns are called these names. Check this link http://www.flyingreturns.co.in/html/pc.php

Anyone have a clue?

Keeping the mileage threshold as a secrect - is this the past or the future?

Q. I am a Flying Returns member. How do I become a member of the Golden Edge Club?
A. Membership to the Golden Edge Club is restricted to frequent flyers of 'Flying Returns' programme. Members satisfying a minimum mileage points / sectors flown count criteria on Indian Airlines and Alliance Air (a subsidiary of Indian Airlines), as set down from time to time would be invited to join the club.

(...)

You can check the status of invitation to the club by writing to us at the address mentioned above.

How does one become a Maharajah and what are the benefits? Its odd, that AI does not give any idea what they are!

Benefits? You get the same ones when you are / or are related to / "have a letter from" a minister, IAS officer etc etc. Upgrades, lounge access etc I guess - though for J.Random politicians (not even very important ones) I've sometimes seen AI four striper captains personally greet the guy.

Wow,

This sounds like a great card if one can get it. More based on personal relationships and political status, then on flight milage. India is a most interesting place, both country and government.

This really is going to be fun when they join *A ! (NOT!)

...In the 1980's my next door neighbour was Air India's fleet comander. He spent most of his time in London and he told me some (at that time for me) pretty unbelievable stories. Now I believe them ! ;)

Now I believe them ! ;)Just note that 9w's international FA's are behaving just like the AI of old, on their international sectors... (Actually, I think AI's FA's are quite decent, so I shouldn't disrespect them - it's more the whole organization, but Jet's FA's were pretty bad recently..)

So, there might be competition for this class of airline soon, if things go downhill there....
