Is it fair for US Airways to levy the $75 quick booking fee and $15 reservation desk fee when accepting my Dividend Miles (Partner) Award for travel on United? I know that I am within 14 days of travel, but tickets booked online for US Airways travel are not subject to the $75 quick booking fee and $15 reservation desk fee. Of course, the US Airways website does not let you reserve award flights for partner awards.
I'm pretty sure that a US based phone agent told me that I do not have to pay these fees for the United Awards through the phone. However, every call to the offshore desk today has been telling me that I have to pay these fees. In fact, one agent gave me a number to technical support for them to explain how I can reserve the United award online with Dividend miles. That should be rich.
What to do? Suck it up and pay these fees?
Also, I found out that UA twice rejected my 'on hold' award reservations after I put the reservation on hold. Apparently, they have 24 hours to do this.
