I am looking to book 2 C and 2 Y tickets CAI-LAX or CAI-ORD. I am booking 330 days out. Does anyone have experience booking Swiss using partner miles? Do they have availability 330 days our usually? How is LX C, better than LH?

In my experience, LX has poor award availability, especially in F and C. Must you travel with Swiss? There are other Star Alliance carriers with significantly nicer C class services and amenities.

I like LX and have two F tickets booked with US miles for February for skiing in Switzerland. I also think LH C may be better. The key to booking LX or LH with US miles is to do your research. Call with specific flight numbers and be flexible on dates. Don't just call and say I need to get from point A to point B. You can join ANA and research star alliance availability. This works for LH but not LX. For LX you must call. Good luck.

edsanders is right. Most of my award travel has been on LH. Last year, I booked LAX-MUC-SVO-FRA-LAX the week of Thanksgiving by calling 45 days out. They will work with you, if you're flexible on the dates, so book your flights first.
