Hi All,

Flying to ALA on Monday and am flying in a TK A310-300 in J. Are these newer or old planes, and is the J the crap short-haul J they have on routes like SVO-IST (i.e., converted Y seats), or proper J seating.

On the way back to LHR, I'm apparently going to be flying in an A330-200. Are these the new planes they use on the US-IST routes? If so, is this just a one off, or have they converted the LHR route to these planes?

Oh you are in for a treat!! 310 are old, very old, bring some tape as the seat have seen better times. They are old C class seats from the early 90's better than the Y seats. 330 have just been acquired and have the new seats. Just had them on DXB flight which was changed from a 737! TK change planes around quite often depending on loads. On LHR they often have a 340 but with old seating.

On the A310, its interior is really starting to show its age. But be glad as very little airlines operate the A310.

As for the A332, they don't fly IST-US, they fly IST-Asia. The IST-LHR on the A332 is scheduled and has been ongoing for quite a while. The A343 does not go to LHR anymore except for equipment sub after the A332 was introduced.
