Has anyone here stayed at the On The Ave (http://www.ontheave-nyc.com/main.htm). boutique hotel? It's close to Lincoln Center. I've got a stay there next week and would love to hear any reviews of it prior to checking in.

Thanks!

Overall, a 3.5 out of 5.

Only a second-hand review. My sister-in-law stayed there a couple of months ago and said it was nice, well-designed, convenient, and that the rooms were absolutely miniature.

And it's not really *that* close to Lincoln Center :) - good 15 minute walk, same as from midtown to Lincoln Center.

I stayed there a couple of years ago. Nice, clean place. The rooms are quite small. It's on 76th or 77th just off Broadway.

The neighborhood is good. Some decent places to eat.
There's a subway station at 79th street. That can take you to Lincoln Center. I believe the subway there is at 63rd.

There's a subway station at 79th street. That can take you to Lincoln Center. I believe the subway there is at 63rd.The subway station is actually called 66 St/Lincoln Center. Exit at the front (downtown) end of the train where there's a tunnel which leads directly into the underground Lincoln Center complex (which I believe is air conditioned) where you can then exit directly into your chosen venue. It's approximately a 13 block walk (about 2/3 of a mile), so I'd walk it IF the weather is nice (which it is most definitely NOT today).

It might be more convenient to take the M104 bus which I believe stops between 76th and 77th Streets directly across Broadway from the hotel (although the stop it might be 1 block further south). The bus also stops between 63rd and 64th Streets which is directly across Columbus Avenue from Lincloln Center.

Thanks for the clarification. Since I started working downtown I haven't spent much time on the UWS. Unless you consider rush hour traffic on the west side highway/henry hudson parkway. :(
