I would like to travel with my 2 dogs from New York to Fort Lauderdale, but unfortuantely they are too big for one carrier and I am one person. All of the airlines seem to require one passenger per pet. Does anyone know of a airline carrier that allows one passenger to travel with 2 small dogs? Thanks in advance!

I hate to give bad news but it doesn't look good for you. Since the requirement for carry-on dogs is that the crate/bag must fit under the seat, I don't think you'll have much luck finding an airline that will let you take up two seats worth of foot space. I think your best bet would be to get a larger, hard crate that both dogs can fit and check them together. That way they can keep each other company. Keep in mind that if you're traveling in the summer to FLL, airlines will only let you check pets if the outside temperature is between their limits at origin, destination and any layover. Wish I had better news!

Most carriers only allow one pet per cabin, so unless you are going with someone who will be flying in a different cabin, you are out of luck.
Would she be able to buy 2 seats and thus take 2 pets?

I've been through that hell when someone who was to fly with me backed out and both my cats were with me. I wanted to purchase a second seat for the second animal so it wouldn't be a big deal in terms of space or cost (they were already registered to both be in the cabin) but I was refused - this was on US, but I had called around before I went to the airport and heard the same thing from other airlines. With my cats, going through security then would've been difficult, today near impossible with TSA's bs.
I ended up having to buy a crate for one cat and put him underneath - NEVER AGAIN!! for a number of reasons. I suggest someone flies with you or you leave the animals at home with a petsitter or housesitter.
