If you haven't already bought your Eastjet ticket, you may want to consider taking the train rather than flying. Bringing that much excess baggage on Easyjet will be very expensive!

Which is also true for Legacy Airlines. Low Cost Carriers (LCCs) normaly charge a fee of 6 to 9€ for each additional kg. Legacy Airlines set these fees in % of the economy full fare (up to 2.5% per kg), which is more often than not more than 9€.

Because the tickets of the LCC are very cheap, people feel like being ripped off when it comes to pay for overweight baggage. They just don't know what Legacy Carrier charge....

If you really want to save money on baggage, consider taking the train.

Airlines make a lot of money from excess baggage - in the case of LyingthievingIrishAir 17% of their income comes from various extra charges

If you were going to London, you might consider using BA for your trip. Their much-maligned baggage policy seems to have been made for you, as it is a per-bag surcharge rather than per kg. IIRC, the bag weight limit is 23Kg, which is as close to 50lbs as makes no difference.
