Hi, I'm new to this forum, but I read the stickies and I am not going to ask for help with a specific itinerary... But I was wondering if any of you knew of any travel agencies, or websites that specialize in low cost airfare to manila? Im in the seattle area if that helps any. Thanks!

I think L.A. and especially Honolulu have the largest concentrations of Filipino immigrants, so I would expect those cities to have the best consolidators. The most likely deals would be on carriers like Philippine Airlines, EVA and a few other often-underbooked carriers that don't offer the best mileage possibilities but generally have decent in-air service.

Don't forget, though, that MNL and CRK have some LCC linkages now to other gateways like HKG, SIN, and KUL. Cebu Pacific (www.cebupacificair.com) keeps adding int'l routes out of MNL to the region, and Air Asia and Tiger Airways are also in the mix. So if an airline offers a real eye-popper to one of these other places and you have enough lead time, the link to MNL could be as cheap as $50-60 or so each way. Would much rather earn usable miles on an NW or UA flying to HKG and then taking the LCC than orphan miles on an airline like PR if the total costs were similar. The two-ticket strategy also helps during times when lowest trans-pac fares to MNL aren't as good as to other cities in the region, which seems to happen often.

I think a possibility would be taking low cost Oasis Hong Kong, from Vancouver, which isn't too far from Seattle, it's about $200 to $400 one way, then a low cost airline like Cebu Pacific from Hong Kong to Manila (they might use Clark airport).

Cebu Pacific has flights for around $100 USD from Hong Kong to Manila.

Cebu Pacific flies to Manila and Cebu (non-stop each dest.)
If booked well in advance one-ways are availlable from ~ 85,-US$ incl. tax.
Cebu Pacific serves Clark only from domestic points (actually only from Cebu)

If flying on OASIS there´s also the possibility to fly Macau - Clark (Angeles City) with Tiger Airways. So, choose depending on your final destination. There´s even a non-stop ferry from HKG airport to Macau (takes roughly 45 mins for about 20,-US$ ow) which saves the transit through HK city !
