Wirelessly posted (Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/3.1.8295/1690; en; U; ssr))

Sorry can't really search on the bb.
Due to the crappy weather over UK looks like a 1.5hr delay to iad. Coming in on ua917 from fra connecting to jfk on the 455pm flight. Looks now I got about a hour to clear customs recheck my bag and go to the gate. Is that enough time? Or should I just leave my checked bag (nothing I need is in it. Mainly gifts) and just go straight to the gate?

Its going to be tight, but better to get your bag if you can. One strategy is to wait for you bag until a set time before your departure, and then start running (with or without your bag). Others may have more experience in the time to transit to your domestic flight.

You're scheduled to use gate C1 on arrival at IAD. That is the closest gate to where you go downstairs for Immigration and Customs (good news). You will be in the midst of several arrivals from Europe (bad news). You must wait for your checked bags before clearing Customs. You can then immediately re-check your bag with United (or take it with you to the connecting flight and gate check it there if necessary).

In either case you go through TSA security (might be faster without your checked luggage - especially if you have liquids or gels in there) right after Customs. You then go up the escalator into the C concourse right at gate
C7. Your connecting flight is currently showing gate C28 - a 3-5 minute walk down the C concourse.

So, everything you do is in the same C concourse. Problem is it is a very busy time of the afternoon. Good luck.

The next UA flight to JFK is at 9:55pm tonight.

Good luck.
