These (http://www.arbroathsmokies.net/) are the guys who do the real smoked fish, but I don't know if they do mail order or not - perhaps give them a bell ?

Other than that, us Scots like most foods - perhaps black pudding (http://www.charlesmacleod.co.uk/index1.htm), but again difficult to get shipped. Maybe haggis (http://www.macsween.co.uk/) ? Again you need to get someone heading that way to 'smuggle' it for you - if you buy me a F return ticket I'll do it :D.

Failing all of that, why not get some recipies and try yourself?
Start here (http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/usrecipes/index.html) or here (http://www.scottishrecipes.co.uk/), make sure you do the Cranachan and buy in a decent malt whisky or two for afters - just avoid any with an 'e' (as in Whiskey) ;)

Have you seen this online store?
http://www.britishsupermarketworldwide.com/acatalog/Canned_Kippers.html

You might be able to find oatcakes locally - having these and some chedder will also provide a Scottish touch.
http://www.nairns-oatcakes.com/home.asp (I'm pretty sure I've seen them in Japan - at least the ones by Walkers 'オートケーキ' in Japanese)
Or make some: http://www.rampantscotland.com/recipes/blrecipe_bannocks.htm - I suspect the recipe in the link macspreader gave you will be easier to follow - here (http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/usrecipes/oatcakes/index.html)

http://www.scottishspecialtyfoods.com/order.html has a contact for Australia. If you can get some Irn Bru in, I'm sure you're friend will be very happy.
