I'm trying to plan my first MR and if anyone could lend assistance, I would much appreciate it. I will only be able to fly until August and will be 20,000 short of 1K, which IS NOT ACCEPTABLE! :D

I've been looking into a MR (or would this be a status run?) to Bangkok or Australia to do this-from either BWI or IAD. It can be between 27 April to 20 July. The cheapest I've found so far has been 1,600.00. If any of you gurus have any tips on how to do something better, I'm all ears.

I think you can do a run to SIN for about 1/2 that much if you carefully plan it. The only problem is that there really aren't too many great fares to be found over the summer season. There are still some deals but they are a lot harder to find in my experience.

Most trips to SIN require a 6 day stay but sometimes you can find a 3 day min stay. Personally I would fly to BKK instead as you'll spend much less money at your destination than you would in SIN.

Hey, that's funny, I was just looking at SIN flights when I checked in here and you are right-cost is pretty high. I may just go with the fairly high rate-because maintaining 1K for me next year is worth it.
Thank you for the assist.

Your profile says "East Coast", if that includes IAD you have some options. Easiest is IAD-LAS by way of SFO and/or LAX. Also check creative routings through OAK.
