Sorry, MR newB here. I've been poking around this forum for the past few months and have yet to see any outstanding MRs out of BOS. I've played around on FC, ITA, et al, and still cant seem to put something together (preferrably DL, but AA or US would work as well).
Is this due to BOS being a hub to nobody? I would think this would mean there might be some competition and MRs popping up a good amount, but that hasnt been the case (at least from what I can tell). Does anyone have any good advice on how to look, or do I live in a city where its near impossible?
Thanks all

Set sort by to PPM, PPM to <0.05. Fare to domestic or Int'l. Now you have a list of cheapest fares by PPM. Use those and search on ITA.
Those distances are point-to-point distances, not figuring in hub/transfer, but it's a good point to start. Visit your airline's website and memorize the hubs, and you can start setting up some crazy routing like BOS-ATL-LAX-SEA and back.

If you have the ability to get there, you can sometimes get some totally incredible deals out of Providence, there were many of us flying from there to LA or the other direction earlier this year.
Manchester sometimes has deals too.

Thanks for the info. I do have a car so I can get to PVD if there are some outstanding deals. I assume the LA deals you were speaking about are no longer available?

at least for this spring and, absent some situation I cannot conceive, for the summer too. And of course (at least for me), as regards AA. I know, I know, there are other carriers. I see their planes out the window. Don't fly 'em if I can help it, though. What follows is thus pretty AA-specific.
BOS has had a number of decent, but not spectacular, MR ops this winter and into the springtime but most if not all seem to have vanished. PDX on AA (via some roundabout routings involving Alaska and Horizon airlines and midnight stops in Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, LA and San Jose) earned over 7K status miles for under $200 w/ taxes; with the "double miles to California" promo these r/t's have returned an average of 17K (total) miles with the elite doubling, etc.
Likewise Dublin via Chicago this winter (Jan-Feb) was in the $300 all-in range briefly, more often at about $350; and due to the double backtracking, these Saturday night r/t's were good for about 18.5K miles.
In addition, had you planned some Chicago r/t's before the "25K miles for 3 r/t's" bonus was on (when they were $98 all-in; they went up...) a mere $300 netted you 35K total miles even as that counted for less than 5K status miles.
A couple of personal caveats: I don't do MR's if it means losing time from work, so mine are almost always on weekends; nor if it means an overnight at the destination that costs me money (meaning San Diego, LA, San Francisco and Portland I WILL do, as I've friends I can impose upon) unless the time, distance, or scheduling makes it imperative to overnight. And even then, I'd only grudgingly pay for a hotel room, and only if it was at a Starwood prooperty so as to maximize my nights with them.
But a quick troll through FC lately says everything costs more, and is likely to cost more for a while. Come October there'll be deals for a window that runs roughly - and depending on the route - from Columbus Day to the week before Christmas (with the exception of Thanksgiving) when you'll more than likely find the lowest prices offered for the rest of this year.
Making it, at least on AA, a good time to think about a Platinum challenge as it makes the following year yours to both maximize mileage earnings and to - conceivably - enjoy some sticker upgrades and the other perks.
