View Full Version : Sfo-mia F

I was looking to do a mileage run from SFO-MIA as I saw UA/US has a very good value fare for around USD770 (via CLT OR PHL)

I didn't get around to booking it as I was unsure of my dates. Anyways, the US fare & routing no longer appear when I use UA.COM. I guess the fare has gone. :(

On FC I still see an F fare of USD734. When I try to book this on UA it always puts two of the sectors on TED.

Now I'm a recent convert to *A from Oneworld, so please excuse my lack of understanding on this type of mileage run. Is it possible to route this fare so that I'm seated in F on every sector?

Cheers,
B

This really should be tacked onto the end of the premium fare thread...

To answer your question: Travel UA between SFO and a US hub, then a UA codeshare on US down to MIA. While I haven't recently checked, I've routed this fare that way multiple times. You'll have to force the connection on ual.com by using the multiple segment feature (ie, plug in SFO-PHL then PHL-MIA, etc.)

Ooops, I will know for next time

I've tried doing that and every time UA.COM says there is an error.

I just tried some sample dates and couldn't get PHL/CLT connections to price out.

The good news is that, depending on when you want to travel, UA now offers F service on an ex-plus plane to MIA from both ORD and IAD. You aren't missing much as compared to the US F service to MIA which also has no meal service, just a snack basket and beverages.

We just booked this trip for May for far less on AA (though sticker upgrades aren't guaranteed ;) )

$274 all-in RT + 15k mi for upgrade (nonstop) or $180 each way (stickers). The 767 service isn't too shabby.

$774 RT? for F is good, though I'd rather be on the nonstop than deal with ORD/IAD (and definitely never flying US).

The flaws with your method are:

1. "... sticker upgrades aren't guaranteed"... you might find yourself in a crowded coach cabin.

2. EQM and RDM are awarded based on fare purchased.

For those who wish to run for status, a purchased F fare can have over 4 times the value as an upgraded cheap fare.

Running with this fare, getting a few connections each way, you might be able to get over 20K EQM in LH M&M

If you can get this fare on AA, and route thru JFK, you also could complete a PLAT challenge in one swell foop.

Keep these *A and AA first class fares coming! ^ ^

As this isn't really discussing a particular bookable fare, I'm going to move this to discussion.

I would like to do a segment run using this fare. Any suggestions for routings to gain the most segments?
