I am planning a personal trip next November from SEA to MLE.

Using ITA Software, I have found an excellent J class multi leg fare and the “rules” provide for unlimited stopovers.

The one-way fare quoted by ITA was $2142.70 for the following routing:

Nov 13 SEA-YVR AS
Nov 13 YVR-PEK AC
Nov 14 PEK-BKK TG
Nov 14 BKK-CMP TG

The Booking Details are:

Fare (A1): AC SEA BKK J fare (rules) $1429.00

Fare (B1): TG BKK CMB COW fare (rules) THB 20375

Tax: US September 11th Security Fee $2.50
Tax: US International Departure Tax $15.10
Tax: US Passenger Facility Charge $4.50
Tax: AC YQ surcharge C$52.00
Tax: People's Republic of China Airport Fee CNY 90
Tax: TG YQ surcharge $65.00

Total for 1 adult passenger: $2142.70 (as of Wednesday, March 7, 2007 7:07pm; fares loaded Wednesday, March 7, 2007 3:06pm)

I would like to stopover in PEK and BKK and when I ask for a fare using a MULTI SEGMENT itinerary, the fare jumps to well over #3500.

I have tried Air Canada, Orbitz Travelocity and Expedia using the Multi segment search, but I have-not been able to duplicate the fare quoted on ITA – which supposedly allows unlimited stopovers.

How can I get this fare ticketed? I welcome all suggestions/thoughts.

Are there any great travel agents who will ticket this trip? What fee would be reasonable?

Due to "HIP (Higher Intermediate Point) check"?

(please read from post #131)
Stopover in BKK would be fine since you are treating two different fares.

Indeed, this appears to be an HIP check and/or MPM issue on the SEA-BKK portion (the J fare increases from 1429 USD to 3347 USD) ...
