Hi, Can anyone tell me what website is the one that lists lowest fares from a particular city. I know I used it before but I can't find it again. The time I used it I put in Philly and it listed where I could go to for less than 100, less than 150 etc, etc. Its not dreammaps. Thanks!

i checked that out for fares out of OKC - and the fares initially quoted are drastically different from the "final" ones! what's up with that?

Farecompare isn't currently checking inventory for the posted fares. You don't actually get to see the "real" price until you have clicked all the way through and waited (forever) for the Kayak engine to search your dates. The fares posted on the city pages of farecomapre are largely fantasy fares that you'll have a hard time finding dates for.

FC would be better off charging a subscription and going back to live inventory searches with the listed fares.

There are too many to list which is why the sticky message at the beginning of this forum exists.

Yep, we hear you. It's a lot of horsepower to do what is suggested but we are looking at different ways.

Thanks!

This isn't the case really; it shows you the published fares available; then in the next step it drills for inventory..

i looked at a range of dates in march dfw-tpe rt. aa was shown at $475. tickets ending up being $1700+ using the dates fc listed (not even aa). i think that really is the case.

i picked the route.
i picked the month based on listed price.
i picked the date range based on listed price.
i picked one of the four days that aa was shown at $475.
i picked one of the nine days aa return was listed at $470.

check for seats...

aa = $2863

how is this not a complete waste of my time???

really?

The problem with that specific fare is due to the fact that the auto-routing does not put you on 153/154 (which is the ORD-NRT flight if I'm not mistaken). This is required by the fare published.

I'm not sure if the fare is valid out of DFW at all - someone familiar with AA routing will have to advise. In other words, this is probably an example of invalid fare loaded by carrier.

In other words, this is probably an example of invalid fare loaded by carrier.Yes, it's bookable at $732.30 all-in (don't forget AA YQ surcharge: $180.00). The routing should be something like DFW-AA-ORD-AA153-NRT-YY-TPE and TPE-YY-NRT-AA154-ORD-AA-DFW.

I find it easier to find the airline/fare on FC and then go to travelocity or zuji and do a flex date search there to find available dates/flights. Then go to the airline's own website and hopefully be able to book and ticket there.

If you use ITA/KVS/ExpertFlyer to check availability, you will be more successful.

No, use zuji for that:
