I heard that US airways was going to be moving from T3 to T1. Does anyone know when that is going to happen?

I have also heard they will move in with Air Canada and United. However, they will probably not do it until their US Air and America West systems are merged into each other in March.

This makes sense and strengthens the Star alliance in N.America.

This is great news for those who travel on US frequently - hopefully we can get access to the MLL with the move.

Practically, how will the systems' merger in March improve the situation for those of us who are Aeroplan members?

A GTAA rep last week told me it would be in May.

Will LOT move to T1?

^ Yup. US is expected to join its fellow *A members in T1 sometime during the month of May.
I'm not sure about LOT - I don't remember reading about them moving over to T1 in the near future.

Well, it probably won't.
However, it allows US Airways to only set up a SHARES counter in Terminal 1, wheras right now in Terminal 3, they have a SABRE counter for all US-East flights, and a SHARES counter for former America West flights.

It'll be sweet to be able to access the new T1 transborder MLL when flying US! :)

If US merges with DELTA do they move out again:eek:

There won't be any merger with DL. US withdrew their offer.
I wonder if AC plans on doing any codesharing with US after the move takes place. It would make sense on flights to/from CLT/PHL/PHX/LAS/PIT/DCA.

They should kick US/HP out of YYZ entirely. Maybe make them fly from YKZ if they really have to stay in the area.

Does anyone know if US has moved to T-3 yet? The YYZ website is still showing them in T-1. I will be flying to YYZ in September on AC, but unfortunately I will not be returning directly back to LAX, and I will be departing from YYZ on US. I have heard great things about the MLL at YYZ, and am hoping I can experience it.

US Airways is still in Terminal 3, according to the GTAA website http://www.gtaa.com/.
The MLL is in T1, so you won't be able to access the MLL.

I've been trying to find information on a Star Alliance Lounge in Terminal 3 at YYZ, since it looks like that's where I'll be banished to. No luck! I presume this means I'm out of luck?

US is the only STAR carrier at T3 so there is no STAR lounge as it doesn't have the volume of customers to make such a facility viable. The only airline lounge on this side of T3 is the AA Admirals Club. This is also a Priority Pass lounge, so you can use it for $24...or free if you've the deluxe membership. AA does sell a day pass, but I believe that's only for those actually flying with it.

Thanks for the response. That's what I was afraid of. Maybe I'll get lucky and US will move to T-1 before 9/20!

It would be nice if this happened just to avoid the hassle of US Customs & Immigration in T3. As an aside, anybody know if/when Nexus machines will be installed there.
I am also bewildered that AC doesn't do code shares with US - now that we're relegated to E- on UA, I find US to be a more comfortable option when AC is not available. It would help the two airline operate more efficiently on routes to PIT, PHL, LAS, CLT, PHX...

I don't think AC will do code shares with US/HP anytime soon. I would be interested in it too since it would be nice to connect to the new LAS-YOW from a US SJC-LAS. I think AC find the cost structure more similar to UA whereas US/HP cost structure seems lower.
