My sister's in the city now (we just got back after a brief visit) and found that BAM, the city's closed. She said on NY eve you could lie down in the middle of the street there were so few cars.
She can cross the street on Arenales without looking cause there aren't any cars.
So that begs the question... what's open in the city now that the portenos are going on vacation?
Will the grocer close his little market?
How bout the local wine merchant (wait a sec, better question is whether Gaucho100's Terroir Casa de Vinos will be open.)
What restaurants (other than the touristy ones) will be open?
and where are the Portenos anyway. They're more fun than the tourists.
