This quick mileage story is appropriate today.
On 12/31/05, a friend (and a US GP, too) flew from Newark to Singapore on Singapore Air (Star Alliance). He was on the 11:50 PM flight, which took off on-time and flew east (over the Atlantic, etc.). So even though about 98% of that flight occurred in the year 2006, all the miles for that flight still counted toward 2005 miles.
As it turned out, it didn't matter to him whether those miles were counted for 2005 or 2006. But I'm curious if anyone knows if he could have requested those miles to count for 2006. This info may come in handy for anyone who flew out last night.
