Attending the large Toy Fair in Nuremberg 2-4 Feb.
Many hotels have a 5 night min stay @ E200-300 per night. I only need 2 nights.
As the Exhibition is located south west of downtown, I am happy to commute.
Any recommendations on areas 30-45 mins out @ E100-150?
Thanks.

It's about an hour outside of NUE...maybe annoying to be on a train, but might be worth it to save money?

Sorry - that's not a good advise..:( Munich is too far.
There are many other towns near Nueremberg ... Erlangen, Fuerth .....

I go the same Toy Show every February in Nuremberg
After spending years of either
a.) paying for overpriced hotel rooms in the city, or
b.) staying outside of Nuremberg, and spending an eternity on the train, or fighting the traffic to get to the Messe.
Finally, about three years ago I stumbed on a real gem....The Lette`m sleep hostel. It is located just inside the wall in the old town. It is very clean. Prices are great. You can book into a dorm room, or get something more private.
During the Toy show, about 2/3 of their guests are also attending the Toy show. Typically, ther other guests experience has been the same as mine. They are willing to trade off a hotel room for the convenience of being in the city, and a 10 minute subway ride from the Messe.
The closest cities to Nuremberg of any meaningful size are Regensburg and Baumberg. Both are a good hour away from Nurembeng central...and, add another 15 minutes for the subway trip to the convention center. You might also find some hotel space in some rural areas, but you will completely miss seeing anything of Bavaria
What is also really nice is the location. It will give you an opportunity to explore the old town of Nurmemberg, which has been beautifully restored.
Lots of great restaurants and bars along the Rhine.
You will not be disappointed.
Here is their website....

If your flying into Munich or Frankfurt, you should also look into Bayern Tickets for the Die Bahn. If I can be of any help...you can email me at jmarc@pacbell.net
