They run on 330v current. It used to be 220, but with the currency crisis of a few years back, it wasn't enough to keep things running in the country anymore, and so they had to juice it up.

careful with that info tho ... they list two plug types for Argentina (C and I). The one they call type I (with the slanted flat blades) is more of the norm I think. I cant recall seeing any of the C types ... so that kind of surprised me.

anything inaccurate.

Actually, most outlets in Argentina these days can accomodate both types of plugs - two round pins for ungrounded or 3 flat blades for grounded.

I am staying at the Sol Melia Recoleta botique hotel the second week of January 2007 and while it looks like a nice property (and a steal at $60 a nite) it doesn't have a pool.
Not a fan of humid weather during midday and was thinking of going to the Punta Carrasco athletic complex near the domestic airport to use their facilities and pools.
Anyone have any experience with this complex? Or even its disco, Mint?

I second this. Both types are very common, and even if you somehow manage to get a plug mismatch at a hotel, I'm pretty certain it wouldn't take much time at all for the hotel staff to dig up a plug converter, as they are everywhere. (Plug converters to US plugs aren't that uncommon either, although certainly less so than round/slanted converters.)
