Does anyone know if credit cards can be used to purchase tickets on the S-Bahn at FRA? My mileage run will bring me to FRA, arriving at 7:40 pm 12/30 and departing at 9:55 am 12/31, and I was hoping to get into the city center without having to change currency.
Any suggestions for what to do in FRA for that length of time on a Saturday night would also be greatly appreciated... :)

I can't answer your question directly, but why not just get some euros from an ATM and keep them for future travels?

I'm pretty sure the answer is no. You can use CC's for train travel marketed & operated by the National Railways (Die Bahn), but not on trains marketed by the local transit authority (even though some of them, like the S-Bahn, are actually operated by the railways).
So you'll most likely need cash (or a German/European debit card) to get a ticket to travel from the airport to the city.

Well that would be San Carlos Airport – San Carlos, California, United States, of course (thank you Wikipedia;) ).

Credit cards do work in the Deutsche Bahn machines, but I don't think so for the S-Bahn machines. I second the advice to just take out a little money from the ATM. Buy a Tagescarte (Day travel card) and you are covered for all S-Bahn, U-Bahn, streetcar and bus travel for a whole day. Some hotels (The Intercity, for one) will give you a free travel card if you stay in their hotel.
