We're going to try to move up to the earlier CLT-BGI flight because it has 6 more F seats available than the PHL-BGI flight (assuming this holds true the morning of our flight).

Every time I've "moved up" I've been rebooked into a Y class ticket (each time times, F is sold out). Is it safe to assume that if F is available, that Y class will be immediately upgraded into a P class FC ticket? In other words, when I check in at BOS will I know if we'll be upgraded for our CLT flight immediately?

Whats your current fare basis?

Three Scenarios...

If you have a YUP or QUP fare and you try to standby, they should upgrade you immediately...

If You have some form of status on US even a lowly US4..They will upgrade you right away if you standby and there is space available in the P bucket...minus the $25 fee this is a great deal if you take 5 mini booze drinks on those flights ;)

Third Scenario...Flights Full...No Standby but by some chance your scheduled flight has some F open :)

Sorry, forgot to mention I'm a US3. So my scenario is #2, which is what I was hoping for.

Thanks for the info!
