Is it possible to walk from Terminal 1 Concourse C to Terminal 2 Concourse D/E and remain inside the sterile area and not have to go through security again? It’s my understanding that if one takes the Skyline train between the terminals you’ll have to go through security again, so I am hoping that walking between the two terminals is an option.

Yes, but a long walk (about 15 min) and also convoluted (the straight route takes you out of the sterile area at several places). Last time I did it was about 9 months ago and part was under construction (as the construction progresses it may block this route, but I don't know that). I wound up going landside later to do some shopping, and it only took 5 min to clear security at T2 (much faster than at T1!).

But is this possible without going through the extra security checkpoint for the US and Israel flights leaving out of the C gates?
