Hi--we will be in SIN for New Years and would like a great place for dinner -- a view, excellent food and a comfortable bar -- no not a loud party bar. We normally do something at the Penn in LA or the Ritz in NY but will be in SIN this year. Upscale is better here.... but will probably not have a jacket with us

Why not try the Equinox at Siwssotel the Stamford....the Restaurant is on the 72th floor....so the View is GOOD!!!!!

As suggested above, Equinox (http://www.equinoxcomplex.com/) or Top of the M (http://www.mandarin-singapore.com/dining/top_of_the_m.htm) have good views, good food and great bars. Some would also say BLU (http://www.shangri-la.com/singapore/shangri-la/restaurants/en/index.aspx?ID=2308) at the Shangri-La, but I can tell you many FTers have been disappointed by the food there.

Maybe you can try the food at the Fullerton Hotel.

Jiang Nan Chun at the Four Seasons is my choice.
I had New Year's Eve dinner at the Equinox and really enjoyed it.
Be sure to make reservations in advance. It's a very popular night for eating out.

Glad you enjoyed it. Am considering going there myself on Saturday - what is the food like? Any recommendations or things to avoid?
